The Sunrise Bay subdivision was formed in 2007 and was created from part of the Weedhaven Ranch, named after J. F. Weed, who owned the property in the 1940s. The Estates at Sunrise Bay is located in Jackson County, Texas; one mile south of state Highway 35 on State Highway 172.
